SOMBRAS TEJIDAS

Sombras Tejidas is a lightweight architectural system that transforms public spaces using low-cost, high-impact modular structures. It was developed in response to the increasing exposure to extreme solar radiation and the lack of shade infrastructure in our cities.

We work with accessible materials and parametric design processes to create solutions adaptable to each context, allowing us to protect educational, community and urban spaces against climate change and rising temperatures.

Our approach combines technological innovation, social impact, and sustainability, demonstrating that it is possible to generate resilient infrastructure quickly, economically, and replicably.

From design to full-scale construction, we develop projects that make shade an urban right, not a privilege.

We weave shade, community, and city

Protected spaces, activated communities

Sombras Tejidas has already been implemented in various urban and community spaces, creating shaded areas that improve thermal comfort and promote the safe use of public space in the face of increased temperatures and solar radiation.

Each intervention demonstrates that lightweight architecture can become replicable urban infrastructure with a high social impact.

Villa Jardín 6072 School – VMT

The project at School 6072 transforms a sun-exposed courtyard into a safe and comfortable space for students and teachers. The lightweight roof allows for continuous use of the courtyard throughout the day, improving thermal comfort and promoting outdoor educational and recreational activities.
